A-dZiko Simba Gegele
A-dZiko is a writer, storyteller, spoken word artist and workshop facilitator.
Her writing covers diverse genres including prose, poetry and scriptwriting. Her work has been aired on radio and television in Jamaica, Montserrat, and Britain, performed on stage in Europe and regionally, and published in a number of regional and international anthologies.

Her debut novel, All Over Again, won the inaugural Burt Award for Caribbean Literature in April 2014.

In October 2019, A-dZiko was awarded a Bronze Musgrave medal for her contribution to the field of Jamaican literature.

A-dZiko is currently working on her latest novel Deep Water.

Abeo Jackson is a multi-disciplined artist from Trinidad and Tobago interested and engaged in ongoing creative diasporic #JametteDiscourse while further exploring the underpinnings of art as advocacy.

She is a past Coco Dance Festival Maverick Award winner, as well as a past Trinidad and Tobago National Youth Award recipient in the sphere of Culture. She recently won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the First Contact Film Festival in New Jersey.

Abeo holds a BA in Theater and Dance from Dickinson College, Pennsylvania and an MA in Acting for Screen from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London.

I use 'soft' materials to discuss 'hard' themes such as domestic violence and police corruption. I also work in Performance, particularly as I apply it to our Trinidad and Tobago J'ouvert. I focus on taking traditional j'ouvert characters and bringing them into the 21st century to explore present day challenges.

Born in Haiti, Mr. Adelin Pierre has a bachelor’s in Environment and Spatial Planning from Campus Henry Christophe of Limonade/UEH. Since his early age, Mr. Pierre has been very passionate about environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity, etc.

Currently, he is the Country Director at YES Akademia and also DRR Regional Focal Point - Americas at United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth.

Due to his dynamism, Mr. Pierre has been nominated the “Young Climate Ambassador” by the Haitian Government and also have also been awarded as an Outstanding Person in 2018 by Junior Chamber International.

Greetings everyone, My name is Akaila Simms and I'm a contemporary artists who loves to dig deep into my Caribbean Culture to discover more about the past and give life to it. My talents include: stage and film acting, dancing, writing (songs, poetry, scripts), and fashion styling. I am 19 years old and always eager to practice my passion. I recently earned an AA degree (associate of art in theatre) at the Edna Manley college of the visual and performing arts school in Kingston Jamaica. I aim to follow my heart, so that others will do the same.

Akimo Randy Isaiah Sandy, only 23 years of age and well on his way up the ladder towards the accomplishment of his career. Considering Akimo only began his dance career at the age of 12, he has accomplished quite a lot. Hailing from Trinidad’s sister isle Tobago and culturally socialized in the warm village of Carnbee, under the guardian of his grandmother. Akimo began dancing in the arms of the Urban Ritual Dance Company, under the leadership of Elvis Radgman. It was there Akimo really fostered and advanced his natural skills of contemporary, afro-contemporary, and modern, however it was at the age of 15 when he spread his wings and began dancing with De Kulture Klub Ensemble, that Akimo really tapped into his abilities of folk, African and Soca/Contemporary Calypso genres of dance. Akimo can be noticed as a well accomplished dancer, and a multifaceted individual, so well rounded, that dance is not hs only talent.
Additionally, Akimo is a creative individual and is talented in the areas of, arts & craft and makeup artistry. However, these are clearly just hobbies of this gifted individual, as his clear passion is dance as seen in just about everything he does, from his consecutive appearance of the Tobago Heritage Festival opening night gala, Akimo also has international and regional experience from travelling to Antigua for the Antiguan Dance Festival, New York City for the New York Fashion Week Gala, Suriname and Barbados as a guest contingent of the Tobago House of Assembly Cast for the Carifesta festival, Jamaica Dance Umbrella with Barbados Dance Project, Canada for the Trinidad, and Tobago day display in Toronto. He also toured around Europe with the MSC Orchestra and the MSC Opera with Keiron Seargant’s dance Agency.
Though dancing as a hobby wasn’t enough, Akimo placed dancing as his career choice just as he left secondary school and enrolled himself in the Division of Community Development and Culture, under the Tobago House of Assembly as a junior field officer in dance. He recently completed his final year at The University of Trinidad and Tobago pursuing a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in the Performing Arts (Dance). To sum it all up, Akimo is simply an incredibly talented individual, both with his feet and his hands and with a bright future ahead.

Akley Olton is a filmmaker and visual artist based in St. Vincent and Grenadines, with a passion for stories that inspire & provoke. He is dedicated to the development of Caribbean cinema and has been trained in the visual arts, graphic design, animation and film and audiovisual production. He has been building a professional career as a Director of Photography, with 10+ years experience with Cinematography, Colour Correction, and Grading, Video Production, on several local, regional and international projects, including award-winning fiction & documentaries films.

I’m a portrait, fine art and documentary photographer from the Bahamas.
I started getting into photography when I came out of high school, it quickly became a lifelong passion and I haven’t looked back since.
Trying to create images that can spark positive change in the world, to me is the single greatest assignment to work toward and I approach every aspect is my photographic process with that philosophy in mind.

Amanda Trought Springer

Amanda a Mixed Media Artist uses a variety of materials – paint, clay, fabric, stitch, book making, natural and recycled fibers creating art telling stories using colour, texture and layers. She explores the use of art and creativity on health & mental well-being including its use with dementia & caring. She has spoken at various conferences and seminars on benefits of creative activities on health in London, Barbados and Montserrat.

She curates an Arts in Health Network, writes for her website and blogs and produces weekly episodes for her podcast and Art YouTube Channel sharing art tutorials, insights, interviews and reviews.

Ami Zanders has been in countless art exhibits and has won a few awards while in the process. In 2010 she won a Charmin Prize for Innovation at the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art. In 2013 Zanders won the City of Hamilton’s Art Festival Competition with her collaborative piece with fellow artist Milton Hill. Zanders art installation, When the Bough Breaks, was featured in the Bermuda Biennial. When the Bough Break was also chosen by the Textile Museum of Canada to represent Bermuda at the 2015 Pan Am Games.

Zanders recently graduated with an MA in Fine Arts from LJMU.

Anika Plowden Corentin is a visual story-teller from Trinidad and Tobago. Her accolades include receiving the People’s Choice Award at the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago’s 75th Members Exhibition, May 2018; the award for the Best 2-Dimensional Piece at the Women In Art Exhibition in September 2018, and the best oil painting in 2019. Her work was also featured in the Women In Art Inaugural Calendar 2019, as well as the Carifesta Exhibition that same year. In 2020, her ‘Angel Belles’ were central to the International Women's Day Exhibition held at the Red House Rotunda Gallery in Trinidad and Tobago.

Anika is the founder and creative director of the non-profit Chosen Hands (Art and Wellness Program). She and her team work with at risk/vulnerable youths, using creativity as a positive vehicle for self-expression. She is concerned with authentically using her voice to explore the nuances of life as a black, Caribbean woman and first generation academic and artist. Her ‘Dancing Belles’ explore the potential of girls/women to soar, thrive and ultimately win in the face of adversity. I’m a French Caribbean photographer from Martinique. Brian Ashing is a visual artist from Trinidad and Tobago and attained his BSc in Environmental Management from the University of the West Indies. He works predominantly in watercolours, oils and graphite, specialising in imaginative realism and representational art. His figurative works seek to evoke feelings of otherworldliness while hinting at larger narratives about human nature. His landscapes, on the other hand, aim at capturing the understated beauty of the natural environment. He draws inspiration from emotions, mental states, science, philosophy, and current issues, hoping to incite deeper contemplation about life and the human experience.

Cass’Mosha Amoroso-Centeno (b. 1996 Trinidad and Tobago) is a multidisciplinary artist whose research is concerned with postcolonial tensions, national identity and social, economic and political dynamics. His works often plays with socio-political ironies in the Caribbean using public memory and relationships with familiar objects and visuals. In 2019 he graduated from the University of the West Indies with a BA in Visual Arts and soon after became an intern at the contemporary art space Alice Yard, where he has collaborated in curating and organising in a number of exhibitions and projects.

I am an object designer and spoken word poet with a passion for designing objects and experiences that support emotional well-being through moments of self-reflection. In knowing our Selves, we have the power to cultivate the life of our dreams. I earned my BA in Architectural Studies from the Caribbean School of Architecture, UTECH in Jamaica. Currently, I am halfway through a Master of Design in Designed Objects at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, IL. Danielle Russell is a Jamaican filmmaker who has written, directed and produced several short films and documentaries. Her work has been shown in countries such as Australia, China, Indonesia and across the Caribbean.

Danielle holds an M.F.A in Film & TV Production from the Communication University of China in Beijing and a B.A. in Media and Communication from CARIMAC.

Danielle lives in Kingston, Jamaica where she is currently developing her first feature length screenplay and sits on the board of Women in Film and TV, Jamaica.

Danijah Taylor aka Danijah Danijah is a young Jamaican multi award-winning writer, author, educator, and content creator. In 2017 the entrepreneur created the social enterprise Studio Dan, a Jamaican based production studio that specializes in the self-publishing of authentic Jamaican and Afrocentric reading books, textbooks and the hosting of live edutainment events. All focused on improving literacy, creativity, and critical thinking in our youth “penpowerment”. Over the past three years Studio Dan "penpowerment" has impacted several at-risk youths in Ghana, the USA and Jamaica. One of which was the successful free creative writing workshop called "Writing 4 Life".

Independent filmmaker Dwayne “Stewy” Stewart is a native of Jamaica and has worked in Jamaica and the U.S. as a filmmaker, musician, and writer. In 2018 Stewy launched a production company named Rxfilms, which handles all aspects of taking a project from conception to completion. As director/producer he has helped to create a variety of content including: short films, documentaries, webseries, music videos, commercials, and talk shows. A member of the team behind the creation of B.O.M.B. Network, which is an online television and radio website focused on content from the Caribbean and other emerging and under-represented markets, Stewy is known for his uncompromising devotion to quality and is firmly committed to the development and progression of a loyal film culture in Jamaica

Faraaz Abdool is a freelance conservation and wildlife photographer/writer who specializes in birds and the issues they face worldwide. He serves on the Trinidad and Tobago Bird Status and Distribution Committee and leads birding trips on both islands. Faraaz also runs annual birding and wildlife tours to East Africa.
Faraaz’s work has been published locally, regionally and internationally. He has appeared on local and regional radio shows and podcasts. Via his words and images, he cultivates wildlife consciousness in a last-ditch attempt to reconnect humans with nature and save the world.

FemCom TT is funny women. Period.
The majority of stand-up comedy is inherently sexist, in the Caribbean and elsewhere. Men vastly outnumber women in the discipline, and the predominant model of stand-up comedy gets laughs at the expense of women, with rape, GBV and homophobia being frequent topics for comedians. To interrupt this and challenge the role of women in comedy, Trinidadian stand-up comedians Louris Martin-Lee Sing and Lisa Allen-Agostini formed a partnership to explore a different kind of humour, one that centres women in the praxis and respects women while pointing out the absurdity of traditional misogynistic comedic perspectives.
We produce live comedy shows, perform comic sketches and stand-up comedy, and make comic videos.
Since our start in 2019 we have emphasised collaboration, particularly with women, but also with the young men who comprise the majority of working stand-up comedians in TT. Our shows have integrated traditional TT comedy forms such as extempo, and we have used TT folklore characters in our stand-up. As women over 40, we deploy TT tropes like the “Tantie” to examine ageism and women. We have made a point of programming LGBTQIA content in our productions.

It is impossible to have a credible discussion about Hip Hop in Jamaica without mentioning Five Steez. Although the country isn't a hot spot for Hip Hop talent, the underground Kingston MC has graced international festivals and has been acknowledged by Earmilk, Okayplayer and The FADER.

Reminiscent of the golden era, with a new twist, a common man’s perspective and an unheard Jamaican narrative, Five Steez’ music has been described by critics as ‘poignant’ and ‘soulful’, with lyricism full of imagery, storytelling and wit.

Gabriel Quiñones is a photographer and filmmaker from the Dominican Republic, interested in issues such as memory and culture. His first solo show was held at the Videoteca of Casa de Teatro, and his work has been exhibited in various group shows at spaces such as the National Gallery of Fine Arts, Alliance Française Santo Domingo Gallery, Centro de la Imagen, among others. His films have participated at various international film festivals and received the award for Best Direction of Photography at the FEMUJER film festival. Currently lives and works in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Born in 1986 in Guadeloupe and currently living in Paris, Geordy Zodidat Alexis is a committed multidisciplinary artist. His artistic practice touches various mediums ranging from drawing to performance through installation and writing. Graduate in plastic expression from the Montpellier School of Fine Arts, he discuss societal themes in his works, including the question of living together and memory. As an artist of intermingling and hybridization, Geordy Zodidat Alexis works on language and memory, on the intimate link between history, collective memory and personal remembrance. Based on a reflexive approach, he questions his multiple cultural heritage (Caribbean, Africa and Europe) to bring out new thoughts.

Ginelly Quandt better known as Ginelly na Kaminda is and Rapper/ producer and creativemind from the Island of Aruba. After finishing Music-Production in the Nederlands she returned back to the Island where she got involved with Foundation Rancho working together setting up social-cultural projects and activities in the historic neighborhood. Bringing an multidisciplinary approach to challenges.

Gladstone Taylor is an author/journalist living and operating out of the creative industries of Kingston, Jamaica. He has been writing professionally for over 8 years. Indhira Altagracia Hernández Castillo was born in Santo Domingo in 1986. She began her artistic training at the Instituto Superior de Bellas Artes (ISBA). In 2016 he finished a degree in plastic arts with a mention in painting at the Universidad Autonoma of Santo Domingo. In that same year he held his first solo exhibition "Carne Viva". He has won different national awards and has participated in various group exhibitions. Currently she is doing a master's degree in Visual Arts at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo.

Janine Coombs known by her stage name Janine Jkuhl (pronounced J-Cool) is an Alternative- Independent Fusion Recording Artiste and Singer-Songwriter from Kingston Jamaica. Jkuhl admires music and the art of creating music as she is an eclectic listener who is influenced by many genres. This love of different music can be heard fused in her Independent music style which she calls "Jkuhl". She released her first album "Star Gaze" in 2009 and her second Album "Sweet Sway" 2020.
Janine Jkuhl pursued a Performing Arts Degree at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, Jamaica. She is a recipient of the Edna Manley College School of Music Honour Roll Recital Award, The Edna Manley College Arts Foundation Scholarship and a recipient of the Indonesian Bali Sama Sama Creative Residency.

Jenifer Barbara MONDESIR was born in Haiti in Port-au-Prince on February 14, 1989. She is the youngest of her family, she is an actress and storyteller, she also practices crafts and is also a hairdresser at Dread Locks. Its training in drama is provided by Directors through workshops, theater courses and training seminars. She has extensive stage experience as long as she has been practicing the profession since 2010. She has acted in several productions under the direction of different professionals. She is very talented and very active.

Hi, my name is Jenille Brown and I'm an animator and character designer based in Jamaica. Being in a new industry in the region I'm very invested in being part of its growth and development into a viable way to make a living right here at home. My project is about drawing together people who have started to figure it out in their own way.

Jherane is the founder and head cook and bottle washer of Rebel Women Lit, a literary community based in Jamaica with members across the world. Rebel Women Lit has grown from a book club into a community library, bookstore, podcast, and creator of the most fearsome literary art events that centers underrepresented voices.

Jiselle Singh aka Jiselle Singer is a singer-songwriter-poet with a voice that echoes the likes of Billie Holiday and Erykah Badu. She embodies the essence of a soulful woman, commanding attention but manifesting the vulnerability to be raw and authentic. Her genre is considered neo-soul, but there are genre-defying elements to her music that make her sound refreshing and exhilarating.
She has a deep consciousness of her impact on this world and her goal is to shift the paradigm of the universe through music that arises from presence.
Jiselle has recently released two powerful and uplifting soul anthems 'Billion Dollar Dream' and 'Sista Got Soul' .

Joanne C. Hillhouse (jhohadli.wordpress.com) is a writer from Ottos, Antigua. She is the author of teen/young adult books The Boy from Willow Bend and the Burt Award winning Musical Youth, adult contemporary fictions Dancing Nude in the Moonlight and Oh Gad!, and children’s books With Grace, Lost! A Caribbean Sea Adventure, and (forthcoming) The Jungle Outside. She has been published in New Daughters of Africa and Pepperpot: Best New Stories from the Caribbean, among other collections. She is the founder and coordinator of the Wadadli Youth Pen Prize to nurture and showcase the literary arts in Antigua and Barbuda.

John Reno Jackson is a multidisciplinary artist based currently in Grand Cayman.
He currently lives and works in Grand Cayman and is a full-time painter, photographer, performer, sculptor, and set designer.

Since then he has continued his exploration with multimedia through a series of works made interpreting themes such as migration, isolation and identity.
​He is currently developing work that is based around: compositions that deal with digital mapping, the process and manipulation of film-based portraits, abstracting photo imagery through form/colour coordination and collage, the presentation and atmosphere of artwork, and the incorporation and identification of found materials.

Juleus Ghunta is a Chevening Scholar, children’s writer, and an advocate in Jamaica’s adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) movement. He holds an MA in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford, UK. His writings on ACEs have appeared in 30+ journals in 15 countries. His second book, Rohan Bullkin and the Shadows – a picture book for professionals who work with child survivors of ACEs – is forthcoming from CaribbeanReads Publishing. He is the co-editor the December 2019 and March 2020 issues of Interviewing the Caribbean Journal (UWI Press), which are focused on Caribbean children’s and young adult literature.

A writer/director/producer for 15 years, Juliette's McCawley’s short films have been screened worldwide. Originally from Trinidad, Juliette McCawley spent 15 years as an actor before becoming a writer/director/producer and has worked in film in the US, China, UK and Trinidad. She is a graduate of the Central Film School London where she studied Advanced Film Directing. Since 2005 Juliette has written, directed, produced and edited several award-winning short films that have been screened and distributed regionally and internationally as well as collaborated on award-winning feature films and documentaries. She has also worked as a mentor and facilitator for film workshops on directing, documentary filmmaking, acting and scriptwriting. Her last film "Sampson's Heart" won People's Choice at the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival 2019 (Carifesta edition) and has been selected for several international film festivals.

Kaleb D'Aguilar is a Jamaican writer and filmmaker, currently completing his MA in Filmmaking, specialising in Directing, at Goldsmiths University in London. His interest in the arts started on stage as an actor, but after completing his BSc. in Anthropology at the University of the West Indies, where he graduated Valedictorian in 2017, Kaleb transitioned to writing and directing for film. He has currently completed three short films, all of which have participated in regional and international film festivals. His interest in 'world building' and 'storytelling' also presents itself in literary text, most prominently poetry. He is the 2019 recipient of Michael Cooke Prize for Poetry.

Kamun, a digital artist, works mainly with new media. His approach aims to be social, to be close to those who are far from the cultural universe by questioning them about their environments.

Kenardo Ellis, artistically known as FY-Aado is a root and jazz artist. His contemporary blend of classic soul and reggae has created a unique sound, resonating amongst both the mature and youthful musical ear.
Inspired by artists like Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Lucky Dube, Delroy Wilson to name a few, FY-Aado has infused his unique sound together with the teachings from these muses, creating his soul roots style of singing and performance.
He hails from Manchester Jamaica and undertook studies in music at The Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts. FY-Aado was the former lead singer of the 6Points Band, which he also played with on numerous stages in the island.

As an artist, Kenneth enjoys creating traditional masks with diverse materials, such as: burlap, coconut, wood, royal palm, paper Mache, gourd, foam, plastic, and wire mesh. He has exhibited his artworks in the following venues: McDonough Museum of Art in Youngstown, Ohio; Esqueleto Gallery in Oberlin, Ohio; Lorain County Community College Gallery, Lorain, Ohio; Jazz Gallery, San Francisco, California; American History Museum, Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C.; Museum of Puerto Rican Culture, San Juan, Puerto Rico; Museum of Art, Ponce, Puerto Rico; etc. While maintaining a heavy performing schedule, Kenneth teaches and strenuously promotes knowledge of art, and Latin music, sharing his talents and experiences with schools, organizations, universities, and community programs.

Kevin Jackson is an animator with 8 years experience and a film director with 12 years experience making short films, commercials, corporate videos and docu films. He Teaches animation, digital media and script writing at the University of the West Indies, Mona, the Heart VTDI and Northern Caribbean University. He graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing his Master's in Media Management. He has served as the President of the Jamaica Animation Nation Network and as the Marketing and Communications director for the Jamaica Film and Television Association.

Possessing the experience that comes from many years and many lives, Dr. Stines has a long and varied performing history ranging from classical ballet to Yoruba “Orisha” dances. Her dance career began in Jamaica with Alma MockYen , continued to the Martha Graham School and finally to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater . She originally established L’ACADCO: A United Caribbean Dance Force in Miami, Florida in 1978. She relocated the company to Jamaica on her return to the country in 1982.

Today, L’Acadco is regarded as one of Jamaica’s leading contemporary dance companies and Dr. Stines as one of the experts in the development of contemporary technique as well as popular and traditional Jamaican dance. She has lectured in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and The Caribbean. In 1994, Dr. Stines unveiled a new modern Caribbean dance Technique called L’Anyah Reggae Technique later known as L’ANTECH. Culminating from years of research, this innovative technique is a blend of classical ballet and several Caribbean folklore forms.

Regarded as one of the four pure modern dance technique to develop out of the Caribbean, L’ANTECH, the language, gives the audience choreography embodying a wholeness of body, mind, and soul. The technique is now included on the CAPE level examinations. She has been Consultant Artistic Director for CARIFESTA in Haiti and Consultant producer to CARIFESTA in Surinam. Her Ph.D. is on Cultural Studies in Dance from the University of the West Indies Mona Campus. She functions as cultural consultant to movies such as Baby Mother—London, Revelations—Jamaica, Beyonce and Jayz Everything is love, Luke Cage Season 2 and more. She is the author of SOUL CASINGS: A Journey from Classical Ballet to the CARIMOD DAAANCE Technique and Does The Caribbean Body Daunce Or Daaance?: Dr. Stines appears in the Netflix Series Luka Cage Episode 11 titled The Creator and was nominated for the Canadian Dora Mayor Moore Award for Outstanding Choreography for the Watah Theatre production “Lukumi: A Dub Opera ,The Doctor Bird Award For Excellence in Dance, The RJR/Gleaner Award for Dance and is also featured in Luke Cage Season 2 Episode 11, “Skanking Sweet” by Chronix as well as Beyonce’ and Jayz’s song “Black Effects” on their 2018 Album titled “Everything Is Love”, released June 2018.

With her appealing curves and equally tantalising dance moves, Latonya Style is undeniably one of Jamaica’s most renowned and distinguished Dance Instructors with more than two decades of experience in teaching all levels and all ages, in various dance genres. Latonya has an undeniable passion for Dancehall and is highly sought after as a Master tutor in this genre. She tours extensively across the globe, spreading the authentic dancehall culture in far away places such as Asia, Australia, Europe and South America. She has been a successful dancehall practitioner since 1999 when she started choreographing and touring with top dancehall Artistes and has performed at every major stage show across Jamaica and some overseas. Ms. Style is the founder and CEO of Dance Jamaica (DanceJA) a Talent/Entertainment Organisation, which portrays the culture of Jamaica and its vibrant people.

Latoya Wakefield is a children's writer and a passionate creative who dabbles in art, dance and photography. She is an advocate for culture and you'll find that her books such as "Irie the Caterpillar" , "Back to Basics: A-Z of Danxehall" and "Xaymaca: A Dream is Born" portrays cultural elements. She just released her newest children's book, "Jamaican Mango Talk Di Good Tings Dem" and is working on several projects.

Lauristely Peña Solano (Montecristi, República Dominicana, 1989) poeta, docente y gestora cultural. Lauryn S. Marin is a contemporary mixed media artist who seeks to explore and capture ‘The Human Experience’ through her work. Self-taught, Lauryn first began exploring expression through little drawing exercises, challenging herself to capture anything deemed interesting in her environment; a leisure exercise which her mother introduced. Initially, the subjects were people and nature-oriented but as she grew, the desire to express her observations more explicitly and explore new mediums arose. After high school, she chose to study through practical experience, studying different mediums from local artists and expanding her knowledge through the Art of Experimentation.

Lesli-Ann Belnavis Elliott, ATR uniquely combines two of her passions - being an Art Therapist and Photographer / Artist. She has conducted art therapy sessions with persons varying in age, diagnosis and settings in Jamaica. Her photography is informed by her being an art therapist and having the skillful ability to merge art and psychology and infuse it in different art techniques. She understands some of the concerns persons face and the impact it has on their emotional, developmental and interpersonal well beings. Her photography speaks to social issues where she masters the ability to evoke emotional responses and provocative discussions.

Leslie-Ann Beckles has been part of the performing arts since childhood, onstage and off stage giving her a holistic perspective. After completing her Marketing studies at COSTAATT and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, she engaged in effective proposal writing for creative organisations, resulting in funds being gained. This workshop entitled “Proposal Writing 101” was successfully conducted at “Journey Round Myself” Symposium for Carifesta XIV 2019. She hopes that all creatives will be able to enjoy a lucrative career by pursuing their craft and as such continuously promotes the strengthening of the business acumen within the cultural sector.

Lesly Maxi was born on February 22, 1985 and is from the city of Saint-Marc / Haiti. He studied theater at the “Petit Conservatoire” (School of theater and speech arts) and followed internships at the Royal Conservatory of Liège (Belgium). He is an actor, playwright and director. He is also studying Psychology at the State University of Haiti. In his professional experiences he has already written several plays and stories, directed multiple productions, and as an actor he has worked for many Haitian and foreign directors.

This is my life and dream which I have been pursuing in various ways over the years. I was born knowing my path in this word, thanks to divinity for lighting the way through out my childhood dreams. I have been giving back to the community since I was 14 via various charity organizations and today as I write to you I am celebrating 13 years of service.

Some times I think to myself, OMG I can’t believe it. One thing I can say is that we must be very conscious of the life we expose our children to and the things we practice because it becomes very hard to drop old habits. Hahaha! I was always a very sensitive child growing up with extremely high sensitivity to the world around me including the emotions of others. I think sometimes that I feel their emotions more intensely then they actually do (if that makes sense). I am only happy if the person next to me is happy and of course I do experience the opposite if they are experiencing it. Let’s share happiness! Empathy gives us insights into other’s lives enabling us to understand what they are going through in order to help them and I must say, boy-o- boy, do have quite a lot and I believe that this is the drive behind my work.

I am not the person to sit and talk about the same problem over and over forever because doing that hurts like needles poking me in the eye ball. I am one who will shut up and act towards developing a solution, even if I fail one hundred times, I will make it my destiny to succeed in creating the change that is necessary for a brighter tomorrow. My dream is to see my country become sustainable and improve dramatically (in her society, ecology and economy) to the point where we can help other Caribbean and or developing countries, which is a responsibility for every country based on the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Lysanne “GoddessEye” Charles is a native of the Dutch Caribbean islands of Saba and St. Maarten and has been writing poetry, short stories and songs for the past 30 years. For the past 15 years she has been busy with theater production, staging poetry events and writing calypso, power & groovy soca and roadmarch. In 2017 she edited and self-published her grandmother’s memoir and in 2019 her own book HERE: A Collection of Queer Caribbean LGBT Affirming Poetry & Short Stories. As an artist/activist she focuses on themes around women, youth, Caribbean and LGBTQIA+ identity and empowerment, sexuality and spirituality.

Martin A. R. Massiah (born 26 April 1994), artist name MA, is a Guyanese entrepreneur and recording artist. In his early years, he sang in his church choir and developed himself as a bass steelpan player in his high school’s steel orchestras at Queen’s College. He produced his first single at Paradigm Records in 2017, but his break into the spotlight was in late 2019 with the release of his single Journey featuring DON. Following this success, in 2020 he released David Dance produced by AJ Records and began a regional tour that was cut short due to the pandemic.

Mary White; Phenomenal Woman of God, Mother, Author of Glass Houses, storyteller, Dinthillian & Philanthropist! Mary hails from the beautiful parish of St. Mary, Jamaica/ Known for her infectious and kinetic personality and recently for her philanthropic connections with Pringle Home for Girls. As Mary says, "Perspective is a Heaven of a Thing!" Her mission is to inspire others to cope through their life challenges by sharing her trauma of the gruesome death of her Mother, who was murdered by her nephew. Perspective transformed and reshaped her mind to tag a purpose to her pain, birthing Glass Houses.

Maya Cozier was raised by artist parents — Irenée Shaw and Christopher Cozier — on theCaribbean twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. She gained years of experience working as a dancer/choreographer for music videos and television shows before transitioning into directing them. Her films have been featured on I-D VICE, Complex News, Short of the Week and more. Her first feature film, She Paradise, was selected to have it’s world premiere at the Tribeca film festival 2020 and AFI Fest.

Maya Wilkinson is a Writer, Director and Multimedia Artist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media & Communication from the University of the West Indies, Mona and is a founding member and the Director of Multimedia at QUILT, the Caribbean's leading devised theatre company - a dynamic group of young creative artists who use transformative theatre as a means of tackling and curing social issues. Maya shares the vision of the company as she aims to develop young, talented individuals through various art forms. She is driven by her belief in the importance of storytelling and art as therapy. Maya has won several awards for playwriting and theatre production in Jamaica.

Michelle Ricardo (Santo Domingo / Dominican Rep.) Visual artist, poet and teacher/social activist, graduated from Altos de Chavon School of Art and Design, and the National School of Fine Arts in Mexico City.  Was member of the international spoken word collective Hip Hop group Quilomboarte.   Has had multiple poetic presentations in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mexico, Colombia and Puerto Rico. Concentrates her creative discourse using a critical and reflective attitude towards the reality of being of African descent, a woman, and a Dominican islander, within an alienated and selfless society in the heart of the Caribbean.

Nadja Nabbie is a writer from Trinidad and Tobago. In 2014, she was awarded a scholarship from the national government to pursue Creative and Critical Writing at the University of Sussex. Her first publications were poems appearing in the GiE Youth Magazine. From there, she became the lead author of My Own SBA Toolkit for CSEC English A Examinations. Recently, her short fiction has been published in Bookends of the Jamaican Observer and in Intersect Anu. Nabbie is enrolled in the MFA Creative Writing program at the UWI (St. Augustine) where she is working on a collection of short stories.

Nailah Asabi Henry was Born in Kingston Jamaica in 1991 and grew up in Port Antonio, Portland. She returned to Kingston to attend Edna Manley College where she pursued her Degree. After college Asabi sang at various hotels along the North Coast specializing in Jazz and Reggae. After having her son in 2017 and taking a break from music she decided to pursue her musical passion again in 2019. Instead of going back solely to the Hotel Industry she decided to jump into the larger industry as well, Dancehall and Reggae. “Bamboo” by Asabi is her very first single out now. Her upcoming singles “Caribbean Peach” and “Winey Don” will be released later this year.

Oneika has been a practicing artist both locally and internationally from 2005. She has exhibited both regionally and internationally and has had the opportunity to participate in various programmes such as the MEXT: Monbukagakusho scholarship, the Davidoff Art Initiative/ Residency Unlimited Residency Programme and the Commonwealth Arts & Crafts Award. She has also taught at The Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts in Kingston from 2014-18. Oneika was also the creator and main contributor behind the now archived art blog, ART:Jamaica. Oneika acts as producer, videographer and editor on the series of short form art docs on our YouTube channel and project planner for our curatorial projects.

I am a multimedia, multidisciplinary artist and curator. I capture. I paint. I draw. I write. I create installations. I put things together. I use the materials at my disposal to convey my ideas, thoughts and responses to events that move me. Experiencing and sharing these experiences are tantamount for the development of humanity and it cements our interdependence. A lot of my work focuses on emotions and feelings, the unseen. It is the exchange of energy that governs the interaction of all beings, with others and the environment. Very important to my practice is the exploration of the ideas of love and respect.

Patricia Mohammed is Emerita Professor of Gender and Cultural Studies, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad. Her expertise is in gender and development studies, film and the study of aesthetics and visual intelligence. She authored Imaging the Caribbean: Culture and Visual Translation, Macmillan UK, (2009) and has written extensively on art in the Caribbean. She has directed 17 films among them the award-winning documentaries “Coolie Pink and Green” (2009) and “City on a Hill”, (2015). A recent publication is the illustrated Travels with a Husband, jointly written with artist Rex Dixon, Hansib Publishers, United Kingdom (2016).

This young man has won the Irving Burgie Award twice; he is a Performance Poet, Professional Reggae Singer- working with the likes of Albert Olton, Peaches, James Lovell, Courtney Melody, Maxi Priest, Collie Budz and opened for Third World. He has acted alongside Rudolph Walker (East-Enders) in “Hit for Six”, and other credits include: “The NIS Campaign” and “Comfort Fabric Softener Commercial", he is a Puppeteer and has worked for the Future Centre Trust performing for institutions around Barbados along with his wife. He has also been a Literary Arts Judge & Party Monarch Judge twice. His professional work experience also includes teaching English at Secondary level, script writing, videography, editing, graphics, teaching leadership skills, public speaking and debating.

My name is Raena Bird, I was born and raised in the island of Antigua. I have had a passion for visual arts since I could hold a pencil. I am inspired by the entire Caribbean and my main mission through my art is uniting the Caribbean and pushing regional integration.

Our mission is the sharing of our interpretations, perspectives, stories, experiences and livity for the preservation, conservation, sustainability, strengthening and reclaiming of our own diverse creative identities. We have evolved IRITS Alliance - network of creative cultural, environmental, agro-tourism agitators, to manifest our universal mission of human wellness and survival.

Raymoniya is a youth, environmental and human rights advocate. She is the Founder and Director of The International Empowerment Platform (I-YEP) which focuses on creating opportunities for international youth to contribute to global discussions. She also serves on the steering committees for both the Religious Group Steering Committee of the Jamaica Council of Churches (JCC) as well as the Pan-Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP) Youth Advocacy Network. In 2018 she was selected to be a part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. She enjoys traveling and trying new cuisines even though she has what many would consider a ‘basic palate' -owed to her being allergic to many different food types.

Richard Miller is from a little community called Lennox Bigwood District, where he is known as “Strawman”. Richard started basket weaving at (10)ten years of old. “I was inspired and taught by one of my cousin that goes by the name Rafael. I then taught my mother, brothers and sisters how to do the basket weaving”. Since then, Richard’s mastery in the art of straw weaving has won him national acclaim in newspaper articles, competitions and the opportunity to display in many resorts  such as Half Moon, Doctors Cave Beach, Jamaica Jamaica, Hedonism 3, Breezes and Round Hill Resorts.

Romona McLean-Foster is a certified Pattern Maker/Designer, Visual Artist, and is the Creative Director for the brand La Mona Designs and Variety specializing in Clothing, Fashion and Gift Items. The brand creates alluring custom wear and limited-edition ready-to-wear clothing and accessories that flatters the body. Eco-friendly creations are also utilized to preserve the environment through sustainable fashion methods. Her aim is to ensure that clients and customers Get quality, value for money being stylish yet comfortable. Most of her collections are versatile and timeless, reversible, and convertible, complementing almost any outfit you may already have.

A bilingual content creator, digital marketer and recently a podcast host! Sarah has leveraged her experiences of marketing, learning languages and dancing to conceptualize Caribbean Creatives The Podcast. She developed the concept during her Panama exchange programme in 2018 & decided to take action April 2020. “For me, I wanted to create something for people like me – a new generation of creatives- who valued regional integration & who are not afraid to build a network that crosses culture and language”. Caribbean Creatives is who I ultimately want to be. Its not about the land that divides us, but the stories that connect us.

I have been performing at the highest level of professional musicianship for over 40 years. Since leaving the Salvation Army School for the Blind in 1979, and doing courses at the then Jamaica School of Music and the Foster Davis School of Music, I became a member of the world famous Fab 5 aggregation and have performed with some very big names in global entertainment. I have been complimented on my perfect pitch, my “encyclopaedic knowledge” of many forms of music, including instant recall of even the oldest songs and my ability on electronic keyboards.

Shakeil Jones is a creative artist, artistic program coordinator and youth advocate from the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. He recently concluded his MA degree in Dance at Florida State University. Shakeil’s research interest are in ritual dance practice paying particular attention to physical immersive behavior in ritual dance performance, understanding the use of the body as a spiritual communicator in its physically vulnerable and exerted state, and deconstructing and reconstructing movement to translate meaning across cultures. Shakeil takes pride in his contributions locally and internationally to promote Caribbean culture and sees his efforts as a nation building tool. He is an ardent supporter of programs that foster cultural retention as he believes that it aids in bringing sustainability to communities and propel our identity as caribbean people.

Sharelly Emanuelson (1986). Her Film & Visual work have been solidified by her academic achievements at the BA, Audiovisual Media school of Arts Utrecht and a MA, Master Artistic Research at the Royal Academy of the Arts the Hague. Through international public nominations and awards such as Master Artistic Research Award from the Royal School of Arts (The Hague) (2014), Black Achievement Spotlight Award (2018) and the most recent Volkskrant Visual Arts Public Price (2020) and the Charlotte Köhler Price (2020) she gained recognition. Apart from her own practice she founded Uniarte, an artist-run organization that enhances the visibility & development of emerging and professional artists in the Caribbean region.

I'm an ambitious young lady who lives in Waterhouse, when I was younger I didn't know about the film industry so my company is here to make the industry more aware to individuals in Jamaica and the Caribbean. I'm a past student of Pembroke Hall High, Excelsior Community College of Performing Arts and I did a certified course at the University of the West Indies Community Film Program (uwicfp). In my spare time I network alot by going to Kingston Creatives meeting, Jafta meetings and just support friends in their business ventures. I love acting, movies, helping others and having fun with friends and family.

Sonia Williams is a critically acclaimed theatre artist, educator, writer, and researcher in African-Caribbean culture. Her directing credits includes: Kamau Brathwaite’s Odale’s Choice, Rawle Gibbon’s Shepherd and Mags Chalcraft-Islam’s Mother Country, devised production for National days of significance and One Woman productions. Sonia has taught at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill, Barbados Community College and the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica. She writes, poetry, prose and plays, her work explores personal, historical and social issues within forms of Standard English and Caribbean nation-languages. She has won many prizes including the: Thomas J. Watson fellowship to Nigeria 1989, U.S.A, Governor General Award for excellence in Drama 1998 Barbados and the third prize the Frank Collymore Literary Endowment 2018 and 2019 with her collections “Her Bald Head Luminous” and “On Livity." Sonia has authored two books: This Too Will Pass and Embodied Knowings. She is dedicated to developing the region through service on the arts.

Sonya Welch-Moring is a transgenerational practitioner, writer and ancestral researcher. A background as a professional coach, mediator and workshop facilitator, led her to develop Ancestral Constellations. This therapeutic process explores family and community dynamics, using systemic constellations and African spiritual traditions. It is a visual, storytelling approach, using figurines (dollies) to explore unresolved family issues and generational patterns. Sonya uses illustration and narrative in her work and is currently writing a commissioned book on Ancestral Constellations as family research in practice.

Stephen Hadeed Jr. is a Trinidadian American actor, producer and voice over artist, with theatre and film training from New York City's, HB Studio. Studying under coaches Austin Pendleton, Karen Ludwig, Bob Krakower and Joan Rosenfels. During his time in New York City, Stephen enjoyed the multiplicity of supporting and starring roles off-Broadway, receiving awards for these performances, as well as having a performance published in The Best 10 Minute Plays 2011, for Bemused, written by Mrinalini Kamath.

Susan Mains is an artist with a self-inflicted art education. An educator by training, she began painting while living in Dominica in the 1980’s. The Caribbean is her home, having grown up in Barbados and Grenada. Recent genetic research has revealed ancestors from Barbados as early as the late 1600s. More importantly, the love of place has inspired decades of communicating its beauty and essence via paint on canvas. A community art activist, she has been involved in the promotion of art in Grenada on a community, regional and international level. Her highest accolade has been the appointment of commissioner for the organization of the Grenada Pavilion at the Venice Biennale for three consecutive editions. In October of 2020 she was awarded the British Empire Medal by Queen Elizabeth for services to Art in Grenada. Her paintings have been collected world wide, and her contemporary installations have been exhibited in biennales in such diverse places as Dominican Republic, Rio di Janeiro, Venice, and Spain. Susan is an artist who follows her heart.

During the Covid Pandemic, we created an online platform called, "Getting to Know Your Favourite Artist, a fun, interactive online interview process where we engage artist and fans, allowing them to see and learn about their favourite artist. Our niche is “….borrowed and original spoken word/poetry, soulful song-styling uniquely blended with other visual and performing arts”. Tribe Sankofa has shared their unique offerings in diverse spaces including being featured at the Poetry Society of Jamaica, Bookophilia, Lignum Vitae Awards, Gungo Walk Alternative Music and Arts Festival, Arts in the Park and the Investiture of the Poet Laureate of Jamaica to name a few.

Tyker Giselle is a Creative Entrepreneur based in Trinidad and Tobago. She has been involved in the Creative Industry as a Performer, Stage Manager, Director and Producer for over a decade. In that time she has worked with children, teenagers and adults as a Drama and Theatre Arts facilitator. She has performed in stage, film and television productions including Elspeth Duncan's "Perfect Place", Damian Marcano's "God Loves The Fighter" and "Huevos", and voiced several ads and company infomercials. Her Stage Management credits see her working alongside the late Raymond Choo Kong Productions and 868Change the franchise holders of TEDxPortofSpain. Combining her love of community activism and theatre, she produced and directed a devised theatre production, "MansPlain", which features new and original work penned specifically to focus on the male experience in Trinidad and Tobago. She currently curates her own podcast, "Zaboca".

My name is Xoë Sazzle. I am a performance artist and digital creator living and working in Trinidad and Tobago. In 2013 I created a larger than life character MIZZ JINNAY which allowed me to explore the politics of gender identification through performance and activism, ultimately leading to my music career. I now own and run XS Studios in Trinidad and host a weekly live show online. Zane Rodulfo is a Trinidadian drummer & composer living and working between Brooklyn, NY and Trinidad. He completed graduate study in Jazz Studies at New York University and holds Bachelor of Music degrees in both Jazz Performance and Ethnomusicology from the Oberlin Conservatory Of Music. He has opened for great musicians such as Stevie Wonder and performs at illustrious venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Blue Note.
